BIS Certification is mandatory for the manufacturer of any product stated in the CRS Scheme. It is required to guarantee the quality, safety, and reliability of the product and then apply the standard Mark. The license is granted by govt. of India for BIS Registration based on your self-declaration of conformity along with the application.

All manufactures must obtain BIS certificate in India before importing products and for the functioning of the services regarding sales in the Indian market.

What are the Documents required for BIS Registration?

  •  Self-Declaration of Conformity
  •  Test Report Conformity by 3rd party Testing Laboratory of Product Samples (Raw materials and the Components).
  •  The Evidence for company Name and manufacturing unit Address along with the business activity scope
  •  Details of the samples to be tested by BIS
  •  Also, the details of the product’s Models/Varieties to be covered

Validity of the License

  • The license needs to be considered for renewal in a minimum period of two years on the request of the licensee. The acceptance for renewal of BIS Certificate will depend upon the application fee, processing fee, annual fee, and any dues that is required to be submitted prior to the application of BIS Registration renewal.
  •  The renewal application can be applied from the BIS portal, Form - VI with an attachment to Form VI (Production Report) preferably 3 months before the validity date.
  •  The BIS license will be expired after 90 days from the validity date (2 years) if renewal application, requisite fee, late fee is not received from the licensee.
